With the AIRPORTSTAR suite, topsystem offers a comprehensive IT suite specially developed for the requirements on airports.
On the technical side, an airport operational database (AODB) combined with a message broker offer a completely
centralised data management.
While the AODB is used to store data in a single instance without ambiguities or discrepancies, the message
broker provides the necessary interfaces for unlimited data exchange between all attached systems
(e.g. SITA, FIDS, ERP, proprietary airline systems etc.).

The actual software is also installed on a single server and can be accessed with a standard browser from anywhere
via Intra- or Internet. No tedious installation of software at individual workstations is required,
and updates or extensions can be made available to everyone immediately.
A sophisticated user management system allows the detailed assignment of access rights for individual users or groups.
This allows the personalised access clearance to software modules, information and functions already upon login..
Based on the individual login the system offers extensive configuration options. For example, the language in which
the software is presented can be defined based on the login. Another significant advantage is the
configurability of the data presentation. Here it can not only be determined which data is made available
to a user or group. It is also possible to define the order in which information is listed, allowing an
optimised data display for each field of business.

The AIRPORTSTAR IT suite is a modularly structured set of software applications covering a wide array of
airport-specific fields of business. Seasonal flight scheduling, operative daily flight planning and a
full-blown aeronautical billing system are the core modules. In addition to these, a flight information display
system (FIDS), software for managing immobile resources like stands, gates etc. and a powerful report and statistics
generator are available. Furthermore, optional tools for graphical flight and resource use view as well as a
facility management for rents and tenancies round off the scope of functions. All modules can be used as
stand-alone applications or in a freely-selectable combination according to individual requirements.
For smaller airports, the suite ‘TOPEXECUTIVE’ is available as a single package featuring a downscaled yet complete solution.
