New Features for Airport and Ground Handler IT systems

topsystem’s software solutions for airports and ground handlers have been updated with some powerful innovations in the second half of 2010. Two of the major extensions have been designed so that both the AirportStar Suite for airports and the Ground Handling System (GHS) for handling companies can benefit from them.

Web-Interface for communication between airports, ground handlers and airlines

One of these new developments is the “e-form” Web interface allowing all parties involved in flight processing to exchange relevant data directly and in real-time. The “e-form” Web interface makes sure all relevant information can be updated and forwarded at any time to achieve a joint process optimization. In combination with the numerous automated interfaces to additional external systems (IATA, AFTN, ATC institutions, airline systems etc.) offered by the message broker and AODB of both topsystem suites, all intermeshed processes can be handled more smoothly and efficiently.

Cash-payment function for aeronautical billing and ground handling service invoicing

A second innovation, of which both airports and ground handlers now benefit, is a completely integrated cash register and invoicing function for cash-paying customers. The software module is linked directly to the fee and service recording, allowing all accruing airport charges or rendered handling services to be calculated and billed immediately.
